Post any criticisms about my characterization HERE. I know I've already had some OOC moments, so any constructive criticism would benefit me greatly to play this character better. Anonymous comments are welcome too, in case you don't want to reveal yourself. |
Appearance: Barts is pretty tall, around 5’9, with tanned skin from working outdoors all the time, usually from dawn until sunset. Brown hair, brown eyes, dark skin, a typical farmer at most, though he does grow his hair out and puts it in a ponytail. His clothes normally consist of a dark brown jacket with something akin to fur around the neck area, and undershirt and some cream-colored work pants and a pair of work shoes. He also has a bandana around his head, most likely to keep his hair out of the way while he tills the fields. His overall appearance makes him look a little intimidating to people, but his general demeanor is the opposite. Personality: Barts is a simple and honest man, dedicated to his life on the fields. He’s a nice man who wouldn’t hesitate to offer a reward if you help him, or he gives his harvest as a gift without question. He’s also pretty cheerful and friendly, welcoming new people with an open smile as if it was the most natural thing to him. Whenever trouble comes his way, he takes it in stride, whether it is disappointment, anger, pain or the likes. He’s the kind of person who wouldn’t want others to worry about him, and he tries to look at things at a positive light even if things don’t go his way. He’s the type of person that, no matter how bad things are, he’d end up bouncing right back into action soon enough. He doesn’t dwell on things for too long. He’s a very reliable and diligent man, and you can see him working on the fields from dawn till dusk, making sure to grow the best herbs and vegetation for the people of the castle. In a way, this could be how he looks out for others, by making sure that the produce they receive is of the best quality. Weapons: Unless you consider a rake and a shovel to be weaponry, I don’t think he has any. Talents: He probably serenades his tomatoes. Runes: Weaknesses: He’s not a fighter, for one, so he’s useless in battle. He’s also the kind of guy who wouldn’t openly say if he’s feeling down or depressed, even if it was pretty obvious, and would just a smile, no matter how fake, at you in order to reassure you. He doesn’t like to worry others, and would eventually just try to return to doing things as he did before. He also has very bad timing, according to Percival, whenever he enters a scene. He doesn’t seem to be the type to notice the romantic things that are happening around him, at the very least, unless someone pointed it out to him. History: Born in Iksay Village, Barts lived his whole life on the farm, working hard to grow crops for the villagers. Up until the war, Barts had pretty much just lived a simple life there, dedicated in working hard day and night. He became good friends with Percival, though he didn’t share his ideals in joining the Zexen Knights and instead decided to protect Iksay Village in his own way, by making sure that they get the best out of the best from his crops. It might be due to the fact that it was a farming village, but it’s assumable that this is the reason for his honest and hardworking nature. Even during the war, he spent his time growing the vegetation for the castle residents, making sure that the herbs and food they got were healthy since they needed the strength to fight in the war. He’d continue to work non-stop unless he is forced to stop, like during heavy rains. He’s so dedicated to his work that some people have witnessed him talking to his produce. After the war, Barts decided to return to Iksay Village, working diligently on his passion as he had before. His return to the castle years after was unexpected, but knowing him, he’d work hard in the fields once more, making sure the residents get the proper nutrients they’d need. |
